Уже в апреле электропоезд совершит тестовую поездку между курортами России и Абхазии, а регулярное железнодорожное сообщение должно начаться в июне, сообщил главный инженер предприятия «Абхазская железная дорога» (АЖД) Леонид Куруа.
Также, по его словам, совместно с РЖД прорабатываются проекты запуска туристического поезда «Рица» и мультимодального маршрута «Череповец - Аэропорт Сочи - Гагра - Сухум».
В настоящее время в Абхазию курсируют пассажирские составы из Москвы в Сухум и из Туапсе в Гагру. Позднее будут запущены поезда в Сухум из Санкт-Петербурга и Самары.
