Buxoro davlat universitetida 21 mingdan ziyod yoshlar oʻqiydi, 10 ta fakultet, 8 ta yotoqxona bor. Lekin binolar shaharning turli hududlarida tarqoq joylashgan boʻlib, oʻqituvchi va talabalarga noqulayliklar tugʻdirmoqda.
Shu bois Buxoro shahrining chekkasida universitet uchun yangi kampus qurish rejalashtirilmoqda. 43 gektarda loyihalashtirilayotgan majmuada barcha fakultetlar, maʼmuriyat, yotoqxonalar, laboratoriyalar, kutubxona, stadion, sport zali va amfiteatr yaxlit joylashadi. Dars va amaliyot uchun zamonaviy sharoitlar yaratiladi. Yotoqxona oʻrni 3 mingtadan 6 mingtaga oshadi. Boʻsh maydonlarga daraxtlar ekilib, bogʻ barpo etiladi.
