Anyone have tips for keeping chicken waterers from freezing? We’ve officially entered the cold season as of last night!

One of my biggest pieces of advice for young women is not to settle for a man who won’t do whatever is necessary to support you staying home with the kids. Sometimes, this might mean that he has to work a lot of overtime or that you two can only afford one vehicle, but I promise you it’s worth it. Society talks about “women’s rights” but rarely is this phrase used in reference to a woman’s right to stay home with her children, which has already been shown to result in healthier outcomes than sending them off to be raised by total strangers.

I don’t know anything about the young man in this video, but he gets it. It’s encouraging to see. A man who demands his wife works while the children are sent off all so that he can afford more toys/games/whatever is abdicating his responsibility as the provider and protector of his family. It’s completely contrary to the natural order, and imo, is a sign of immaturity or possibly something far worse.

Advent aims to try focus on the right things this year:
Give something to both the local food drives
Give to both the local toy drives
Donate clothes.
Give to a pro life org, maybe buy their Christmas cards.
Give to a TLM preservation initiative.
Share the insanely large amounts of Christmas treats I hoarded with other people because no one needs as much stollen as I have.
Pray mostly the joyful mysteries.
Celebrate St Nicholas and St Lucy
Get our first Bab friendly nativity set and have the figures travel to it over the floor. Put the baby Jesus in on Christmas.

I adored reading The Catholic Girl's Guide by Father Lasance. It's such a treasure I will keep with me everyday for the rest of my life. I use it every morning and night for my prayers, I will be sure to re-read portions as I continue through my life. I will still post about it, since it profoundly touched my heart. If you are a young Catholic woman, you need this book, it will open your heart in ways I cannot adequately describe at this time. If you are a young Catholic man, read this book to understand the heart of a young woman and how you should court and protect her. 😇

Baked oatmeal, good for a warm treat and for nursing mothers

2 cups milk
2 ripe bananas squished
3 cups oats
1 cup berries
4 tbsp maple syrup
2 tsp baking powder
Big shake of cinnamon

Optional add ins:
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp flax seed
Shredded coconut
A couple spooks of protein powder
