Почётным гостем церемонии стал Помощник Президента России, председатель Российского военно-исторического общества Владимир Мединский. Стелу открыли на площади Бабушкина в Вологде.

Монумент отражает вклад местных заводов и госпиталей в Победу в Великой Отечественной войне. На нём изображены:

⚡️ разработчик пулемёта Михаил Березин
⚡️ машинист паровоза Василий Болонин
