Попался Куракин на взятках в размере 180 млн и злоупотреблении полномочиями, которые привели к ущербу в 3 млрд – генерал просто вырубал по фишке лес на территориях воинских частей и продавал его по бросовым ценам.
Помимо срока Куракину назначили ещё и штраф в размере 396 млн рублей. Кто компенсирует государству ещё 2,5 млрд причинённого им ущерба, история умалчивает.
