Lamb And Flag - 33 Rose St, #CoventGarden, #London, #WC2E
A beauty, both outside and in. This pub, though charming to the eye, has a bloody history. Once referred to by locals as "the bucket of blood," the Lamb & Flag is a world of its own. The history of #London lies within its public houses. The many historical buildings that once housed or aided the population of Britain all owe a great deal of gratitude to their local pubs. It was here that people cut loose and shared valuable information. Before the world we know today, pubs were a place to do almost everything. From seeking employment to being tried for murder, the taverns of #Britain saw it all. Thank you all for joining us on our journey, we hope that you'll join us on #YouTube and continue to observe our work. To those who frequent the venues we cover, we thank you deeply. 🍻🤝

For Oleksandra Tsekhanovska, head of the Hybrid Warfare Analytical Group at the Kyiv-based Ukraine Crisis Media Center, the effects are both near- and far-reaching. Russians and Ukrainians are both prolific users of Telegram. They rely on the app for channels that act as newsfeeds, group chats (both public and private), and one-to-one communication. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Telegram has remained an important lifeline for both Russians and Ukrainians, as a way of staying aware of the latest news and keeping in touch with loved ones. The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified. One post on the channel from February 24 claimed without evidence that a widely viewed photo of a Ukrainian woman injured in an airstrike in the city of Chuhuiv was doctored and that the woman was seen in a different photo days later without injuries. The post, which has over 600,000 views, also baselessly claimed that the woman's blood was actually makeup or grape juice. At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. But it also offers open channels that enable a single user, or a group of users, to communicate with large numbers in a method similar to a Twitter account. This has proven to be both a blessing and a curse for Telegram and its users, since these channels can be used for both good and ill. Right now, as Wired reports, the app is a key way for Ukrainians to receive updates from the government during the invasion. Again, in contrast to Facebook, Google and Twitter, Telegram's founder Pavel Durov runs his company in relative secrecy from Dubai.
