Главная силовая установка: Дизель-редукторный агрегат, в составе: дизеля Akasaka АХЗЗВ мощностью 1618 кВт (2200 л.с.), с частотой вращения 310 об/мин, и повышающего редуктора Hitachi NICO HLTPY1150 с муфтой, обеспечивающих передачу мощности на гребной винт регулируемого шага и валогенератор переменного тока. Главный двигатель – четырёхтактный, нереверсивный, простого действия.
Головное судно носит название «Охотск» в честь первого на Дальнем Востоке (расположенного в Хабаровском крае) населенного пункта Охотск, в его честь названо Охотское море. Второй серийный краболов назван в честь посёлка и порта в Хабаровском крае Аян.
