: I believe it's a fair assumption that the majority of people who wander & live a Pagan path, are self reflective, contemplative, consistently work towards self improvement, hunting for methods to aid themselves, those close around & those broader afield.

Yesterday symbolised another trip around the Sun & was my birthday. Leading up to the day over the last few weeks, or months even, I've felt more introspective than usual, taking stock of many aspects of my journey thus far & the past year, all enhanced with this coming new birth year being one the the greatest so far, with the arrival of my first child. As many who've already experienced this, perhaps multiple times, know that one evaluates every minute detail of one's self, underneath the greater question of 'am I ready' or 'am I man enough to be a Father?'

Walking across the crackling frozen ground in the dark before dawn yesterday, a sadly came across a young deer which had very recently past away. It lay starkly right in the open, which is a strange place for an animal such as that to pass away, especially as it's body was fairly unharmed. I gently took it to a more dignified resting place than it was laying; a quiet grove where it can gradually become One with Nature's everlasting cycle. I stood back for one last look, turned to walk away, then, around 150yrds in front, roughly where I first saw the dead deer, stood a fully grown deer, stood still, staring at right me, to then gracefully walk away.

I have always lived by intuition, symbols, auguries & omens. Take what you will from this tale.
