Среди европейских стран, где признаются дипломы российских вузов, Испания, Италия, Франция, Венгрия, Сербия и другие. В список вошли также страны СНГ.
В самой России перечень иностранных вузов и научных организаций, чьи дипломы не нужно подтверждать, ежегодного растёт. В последний раз прирост составил 14 научных организаций и, согласно данным от 27 января 2025 года, их 398 в 39 странах.
Это совпадает с основными направлениями миграционной политики страны по привлечению в экономику квалифицированных кадров извне.
