Full coverage coming up. 🎙️
Pep Guardiola: “I think a lot, sometimes overthink.”

“We are finishing the Sagrada Família, still it's not done. But when you go there into this temple, you realise what - in that time, without 3Ds and all this technology - this person [Antoni Gaudí] had the vision to create or think this type of things.

"You cannot realise it's possible... Hopefully in my adorable and lovely country, Catalunya, sooner or later can finish it, and all of the people around the world, religious or not, can enjoy it.”
Pep Guardiola: “If I have to retire right now, I'm more than satisfied. I'm so happy still doing my job. I never, never thought in my life I'd live what I've lived, in these 13 or 14 years and still I'm living. I'm more than grateful, I cannot ask for anything else.”

“I want to say something honest; with this start of the press conference [it seems like] we are going to play a friendly game tomorrow. I'm a little bit concerned about that in terms of the questions about Gaudi... It's a competition!”
Pep Guardiola: “Maybe I can have some doubts in many things, but Phil Foden is going to be back! As much as he feels good, he will be back!

I think 30 minutes playing at St James' Park [against Newcastle], I felt already something that I like that I didn't see for example against Watford.

We cannot forget after two months or maybe more without training, with the problems that he had a little bit with niggles and some problems in his health. Now he's smiling in his rhythm.

We cannot forget what we has done so far without him, the best player in the Premier League last season, so we need him, yes or yes!

Wow, he's an important, important player for us. I don't have any doubts about the way he loves to play football, and the way he trains, his passion, he's going to be back, and he's going to help us like he helped us since he landed in the Man City first-team.”
Pep Guardiola on Slovan Bratislava: “They play with some courage. I saw the game against Glasgow Celtic, the result wasn't good but in terms of the moments, they are not scared to play, to prove things. I don't know if tomorrow they're going to play with four at the back.”
Pep Guardiola: “I have learned [in my career] that nothing is for granted. Even the media is going to say how beautiful we are... Always we have to do it! Nothing comes from that. Always I have an incredible, incredible opinion of my opponents, my colleagues. I never, never won a game thinking that I'm in Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Man City and this is going to happen. Always I try to give credit, especially for our opponents.”
Pep Guardiola on his thoughts on Slovan Bratislava: “Unfortunately we, in England, we don't have the rights to see the Slovakian league. I'm sorry.

I have huge, huge respect for Slovan Bratislava and we're going to try and analyse what they do, the patterns they do, and try to impose our game.”
John Stones on potentially moving back into Man City's midfield again: “If called upon, 100 per cent!”
Alisson: “Ederson’s a fantastic guy. We have a really good relationship. I like the way Ederson is composed, cool with the ball at his feet... When I look at him, I see this is the way I have to play; cooler with the ball at my feet, even under pressure.”
John Stones on Rodri's injury: “Difficult news for us all to take. I actually spoke to Rodri yesterday and he's doing well, recovered [from surgery] well.

It's sad for the standard that he's set over the past few seasons, it's been incredible. We know what a key player he is for us, and we've got now to look forward to him coming back, and hopefully coming back quickly.

We wish him a speedy recovery - which we know is going to be a long time. But a lot of quality in a lot of players that are more than capable of filling in in that position.”
John Stones on speaking with Rodri: “He was good, in good spirits. I think now he knows what's happened and knows his process to get back, he's come to terms with it and he seemed in good spirits, which I'm glad.

Obviously we check in, I think he's over in Spain with his family. He needs to take some time now and relax and recover the best he can.”
John Stones on playing in midfield: “I love it!

It's a totally different look on the game and appreciation for the game of players that have played in there. An understanding of the game, learning from a defender's point of view when to receive the ball, when to pass the ball, appreciation of the guys that play that role so regularly.

I always enjoy it and try to improve every time I go in there, I give my best. I think that's all the manager wants from us is to go and show our qualities, because he puts us there for a reason. Then it's about us going and doing the job.”
John Stones: “I think that's why we've been so successful over the years. Everyone has played a massive part in that success, and playing the role when called upon.

For instance, coming on at Arsenal, ending up scoring the winning goal, and that was my time to be ready when called upon - as have other players doing the same!

I wish we could play every game, but we have an incredible squad, a very busy schedule, and being ready for when he [Pep Guardiola] wants us!”
