Помню казалось, что всё в этом мире
ночью морозной метель замела!
Вот бы остаться в уютной квартире
с чаем и книгой… Но звали дела.

Улица в снежном тумане спросонок…
Тихое «мяу»… Холодный как лёд
рыжий комочек… Да это котёнок!
Жалобно плачет и маму зовёт!

Сидя под снегом, ребенок кошачий
тихо мяукал, но мама не шла!
«Мяу» - опять пропищал на удачу,
тратя последние капли тепла.

Что же в груди вместо сердца должно быть -
вышвырнуть ночью такого за дверь!
Ну-ка малыш, вылезай из сугроба!
Быстро за пазуху, маленький зверь!

Ткнулся доверчиво мордочкой в руку,
вновь обретая свой маленький рай,
и, засыпая, тихонько мяукнул:
«Мама, ты больше меня не теряй!»
