В 2014 году мэрия Москвы продала 39 старых советских кинотеатров компании «Эдисонэнерго». Сумма сделки составила 9,6 млрд рублей. Эта фирма аффилирована с ADG Group, которая планировала к 2018 году перестроить объекты в районные торговые центры под единым брендом «Место встречи».
