Сейчас и.о.ректора РГУ является Дмитрий Боков, бывший глава областного избиркома. Сообщается, что его кандидатуру на выборы выдвинула председатель Студенческого совета Дарья Гусева, а Ученый совет поддержал. Сами выборы планируются на апрель. Ректор РГУ избирается тайным голосованием на конференции вуза из числа кандидатов, прошедших аттестацию в Минобрнауки.
