Большой трамплин спортивного общества «Спартак» построен на севере Кирова в 1951 году. Он был самым высоким (70 метров) в СССР и одним из крупнейших в Европе. Трамплин спроектирован кировскими специалистами под руководством инженера А. В. Казенина. Постройка трамплина позволила проводить в нашем городе соревнования всесоюзного уровня, на которые собирались кировчане в большом количестве. Многие известные спортсмены СССР постигали азы спорта и становились профессионалами именно в Кирове. К сожалению, в последние годы трамплин разваливается и находится в аварийном состоянии.
