“Trumbo” is a 2015 American biographical drama film directed by Jay Roach and written by John McNamara. The film follows the life of Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, and is based on the 1977 biography “Dalton Trumbo” by Bruce Alexander Cook.
Dalton Trumbo was Hollywood’s top screenwriter who scripted many award-winning films. In 1947, he and nine other artists (given the nickname the “Unfriendly Ten” or “Hollywood Ten”) were blacklisted and put on trial for their political beliefs (present or past membership in, alleged membership in, or perceived sympathy with the Communist Party USA, or on the basis of their refusal to assist Congressional or FBI investigation of alleged Communist influences in the motion picture industry).

Just days after Russia invaded Ukraine, Durov wrote that Telegram was "increasingly becoming a source of unverified information," and he worried about the app being used to "incite ethnic hatred." At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. In February 2014, the Ukrainian people ousted pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych, prompting Russia to invade and annex the Crimean peninsula. By the start of April, Pavel Durov had given his notice, with TechCrunch saying at the time that the CEO had resisted pressure to suppress pages criticizing the Russian government. "There are several million Russians who can lift their head up from propaganda and try to look for other sources, and I'd say that most look for it on Telegram," he said.
