На 66 году жизни скончался Гипрокаучук. Здание бывшего проектного института на улице Сафразьяна рядом с площадью Менделеева реконструируют под жилой дом. Инженеров-проектировщиков выгнали уже давно, теперь его будут обживать люди разных профессий. В нулевых советский Гипрокаучук получил вторую жизнь и был преобразован в ООО "Технопроект КНХП", но прожил недолго, загнувшись под весом судебных процессов, связанных с долгами и невыплатой зарплаты сотрудникам.
В 2024 году отправили на все четыре стороны и арендаторов. По информации инсайдеров, на верхнем этаже уже сделали стяжку полов. Также планируется надстроить мансарду (видимо, под квартиры-студии). Поговаривают об установке лифтов. В здании очень высокие потолки. Видимо, квартиры здесь будут далеко не всем по карману.
Сколько ещё простоит здание, построенное в далёком 1959 году, одному Богу известно.
