Немецкие ВВС завершили своё развёртывание по планам Air Policing Baltic

Немецкие Eurofighter были развёрнуты на авиабазе Лиелварде, недалеко от Риги, столицы Латвии, с марта по ноябрь. В ходе пяти ротаций было задействовано в общей сложности более 1000 военнослужащих. Налет задействованных Eurofighter составил свыше 1250 летных часов. Всего было проведено более 80 перехватов.
С 1 декабря Air Policing Baltic возглавят ВВС Нидерландов, чьи лётчики будут размещены на авиабазе Эмари в Эстонии. Для патрулирования будут использоваться самолеты F-35.
В церемонии передачи командования принял участие ~~солнцеликий~~ инспектор ВВС, генерал-лейтенант Инго Герхартц.
