Repent of your Sins?

1-
Was righteous Lot REALLY saved when offered his daughters to get raped to death by sodomites then had incestuous relations with them?

2- Was the man after God’s own heart, David, REALLY saved when he committed adultery then murder to cover it up?

3- Was the apostle who preached Pentecost, Peter, REALLY saved when he swore and denied Jesus Christ?

4- Was the doubting apostle, Thomas, REALLY saved when he refused to believe Jesus was bodily raised from the dead?!

5- Was the thief on the cross REALLY saved when he lived his whole life as a degenerate and cried out in his final moments for salvation?!

8- Was the great evangelist, Jonah, REALLY saved when he wished to die because of a plant after the Lord used him to see 120,000 people saved?!

Great observation from the chat:

1. Ephesians 2:10“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Key point: Believers should walk in good works, but this does not mean they always will.

2. Titus 3:8“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”

Key point: Believers might maintain good works, meaning it is not inevitable.

3. Titus 2:11-12“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;”

Key point: Grace teaches us how we should live, but not all believers will obey.

4. Hebrews 10:24-25“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

Key point: Believers should be provoked to good works, proving they do not automatically happen.

5. 2 Peter 1:5-9“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; […] But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.”

Key point: Believers should add to their faith, but some will lack these things.

6. Romans 6:12-13“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”

Key point: Believers should yield to righteousness, but they may still yield to sin.

7. Galatians 5:16-17“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”

Key point: Walking in the Spirit leads to good works, but believers can still follow the flesh instead.

8. 1 Corinthians 3:11-15“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. […] If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”

Key point: Some believers will have no lasting works, but they are still saved.

9. Colossians 1:10“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”

Key point: Believers might walk worthy, meaning it is not automatic.

10. 1 Thessalonians 5:19“Quench not the Spirit.”

Key point: Believers can resist the Spirit, meaning good works are not guaranteed.
