Its influence extends beyond the platform, with major Russian publications, government officials, and journalists citing the page's posts. Perpetrators of such fraud use various marketing techniques to attract subscribers on their social media channels. 'Wild West' Despite Telegram's origins, its approach to users' security has privacy advocates worried. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) had carried out a similar exercise in 2017 in a matter related to circulation of messages through WhatsApp.
