В аэропорту его встретил министр обороны во временном правительстве Нигера генерал Салифу Моди. Это первый визит высокопоставленного российского чиновника в Нигер после прошедшего здесь в июле переворота. Накануне Евкуров также посетил Бамако (Мали) и Уагадугу (Буркина-Фасо).
