Узнал о том, что после 1819 года в германских государствах была введена предварительная цензура печатной продукции, от которой, помимо прочего, освобождались книги научного характера толще 320 страниц. Не исключаю, что этот факт повлиял на то, что научные книги на немецком языке, как правило, такие длинные (большинство книг, которые я выпускал на русском и на английском как автор или редактор, не превышали этот объем)
