Как сообщили в пресс-службе армии, 162-я дивизия получила данные разведки о том, что боевики планируют вырваться из зоны возле больницы Камаль Адван, где проходила операция армии. На пути террористов были заранее развернуты засады, организованные бойцами 401-й бронетанковой бригады, а также «Гивати» и спецподразделения «Призрак».
Ранним утром группа боевиков попыталась отступить в сторону центра Газы, но израильские силы уничтожили их прицельным огнем с земли и воздуха.
