Рабочая встреча владыки Варнавы с генеральным директором телеканала ЛенТВ24

22 января 2025 года в епархиальном управлении состоялась рабочая встреча епископа Выборгского и Приозерского Варнавы с генеральным директором телеканала ЛенТВ24 Олегом Викторовичем Черных.

В ходе встречи обсуждались актуальные проблемы современности, вопросы преподавания основ православной культуры в школах, значение веры и патриотизма в жизни общества.

В рамках визита Олег Викторович осмотрел епархиальную видеостудию и оценил её возможности. Стороны договорились о дальнейшем сотрудничестве, направленном на популяризацию духовно-нравственных ценностей через медиапроекты.

Владыка Варнава выразил уверенность, что совместная работа с ЛенТВ24 станет важным шагом в деле духовного просвещения и укрепления моральных ориентиров в обществе.

On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. It is unclear who runs the account, although Russia's official Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter account promoted the Telegram channel on Saturday and claimed it was operated by "a group of experts & journalists." On December 23rd, 2020, Pavel Durov posted to his channel that the company would need to start generating revenue. In early 2021, he added that any advertising on the platform would not use user data for targeting, and that it would be focused on “large one-to-many channels.” He pledged that ads would be “non-intrusive” and that most users would simply not notice any change. Ukrainian forces have since put up a strong resistance to the Russian troops amid the war that has left hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, including children, dead, according to the United Nations. Ukrainian and international officials have accused Russia of targeting civilian populations with shelling and bombardments. This ability to mix the public and the private, as well as the ability to use bots to engage with users has proved to be problematic. In early 2021, a database selling phone numbers pulled from Facebook was selling numbers for $20 per lookup. Similarly, security researchers found a network of deepfake bots on the platform that were generating images of people submitted by users to create non-consensual imagery, some of which involved children.
