Update March 8, 2022: EFF has clarified that Channels and Groups are not fully encrypted, end-to-end, updated our post to link to Telegram’s FAQ for Cloud and Secret chats, updated to clarify that auto-delete is available for group and channel admins, and added some additional links. Perpetrators of these scams will create a public group on Telegram to promote these investment packages that are usually accompanied by fake testimonies and sometimes advertised as being Shariah-compliant. Interested investors will be asked to directly message the representatives to begin investing in the various investment packages offered. On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations. Oleksandra Matviichuk, a Kyiv-based lawyer and head of the Center for Civil Liberties, called Durov’s position "very weak," and urged concrete improvements. Ukrainian forces have since put up a strong resistance to the Russian troops amid the war that has left hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, including children, dead, according to the United Nations. Ukrainian and international officials have accused Russia of targeting civilian populations with shelling and bombardments.

十八。連動 Un1t8十八。連動是十八區志同道合的年輕人組成，以往一直以無名身份默默舉辦各區各種大小活動。我們各區一起制作了十八塊連儂布，並於2019年10月20日九龍大遊行和2019年11月2日在愛丁堡人權民主法案集會展示。其後，我們亦再製作一塊屬於香港人的簽名連儂布並在2019年12月29日舉辦了香港人抗爭的日與夜集會，希望回顧過往六個月的抗爭之路。而「十八。連動 」目的是希望連結十八區的人一起為香港出一分力，不再沉默。
