Ранее Руслан Болотов,глава города Иркутск, передал в помощь беженцам предметы первой необходимости. Сотрудники администрации Иркутска также вышли с инициативой о перечислении своего однодневного заработка для приобретения необходимых беженцам вещей и продуктов.
Кроме того, в рамках акции «Книги для детей Донбасса и Луганска» был организован сбор художественной, научно-познавательной литературы и энциклопедий для детей. Собрано 1111 изданий.
Уже в начале мая гуманитарный груз будет отправлен на помощь жителям Луганской и Донецкой народных республик. Всего за время военной спецоперации на Украине в Иркутске было собрано порядка 75 тонн гуманитарной помощи.
