По данным издания, в Швейцарии уже «несколько недель» идут тайные переговоры о возможном соглашении между Россией и США. Американская сторона может выступить в качестве посредника и направлять российский газ по «Северному потоку – 2» в Мекленбург — Переднюю Померанию. В этом случае США смогут контролировать снабжение Германии газом и «зарабатывать на этом деньги», уточнила газета.
Власти Германии заявили, что им ничего не известно о встречах Гренелла в Швейцарии, а сам спецпосланник отверг участие в подобных переговорах.
