Испанский производитель заявил о завершении 5-летней программы испытаний совместно с национальным перевозчиком Нидерландов NS. Тестирование проводилось на электропоезде CAF Sprinter.
Опытный состав был оснащен камерами, лидарами, системами обнаружения препятствий и управления движением ETCS поверх системы автоведения ATO. Тесты проводились со скоростью до 80 км/ч на магистральном участке в 5-6 км и на путях депо. Оператор, находившийся на расстоянии в 90 км от испытаний, дистанционно управлял поездом в режимах GoA1 и GoA2. На участке между конечной станцией и депо поезд переводился в полностью беспилотный режим GoA4. Также в рамках тестов состав автоматически выполнял сцепку с другим поездом.
Испытания беспилота на магистральных линиях сейчас также проводит Alstom в Германии. В то же время электропоезд «Ласточка» с уровнем автоматизации GoA3/УА3 уже четыре месяца курсирует в коммерческой эксплуатации на МЦК.
