Луи Пьер Анкетиль (1723 - 1806), член Французскаго национальнаго института, корреспондент Академии надписей и изящных наук писал, что в Скифии существовали публичные школы:
"Жрецы их (скифов) обучали философии, астрономии, гадательной астрологии, бессмертию и переселению душ; и для этого имели они публичные школы. Утверждают, что языческая вера и науки не от греков перешли к ним, но от них к грекам".
