В новогоднюю ночь скончался Виктор Алкснис, последние двое суток находившийся в коме. Вероятно, долгие годы борьбы с раком способствовали его беспросветному настроению последних лет ("всё плохо, мы все пропали" - таков лейтмотив его публицистики). Но в истории он останется не поэтому. Он останется как эталон честного человека, офицера, государственно и стратегически мыслящего деятеля, который не мог вписаться ни в какие узкие партии. На таких военных, как Алкснис, наша страна держится столетиями. Когда все вокруг предавали и продавали, Алкснис неизменно оказывался честным и верным. Он не дожил немного до 75 лет и стал первой серьёзной потерей 2025 года. Почтим же его память.
