Urgent Concern Regarding Student Safety on School Bus

Dear Mr. Langlais (Superintendent),

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding an incident that recently took place on one of your school buses. I understand that a student was reportedly attacked by a group of African immigrant children while on the bus. This incident has raised serious concerns among many about the safety and well-being of all students, as well as the need for appropriate intervention and action.

As a parent/community member, I believe every student has the right to feel safe and respected while attending school and traveling to and from school. Any form of violence is unacceptable and should be addressed promptly and effectively.

I respectfully request that the school district take immediate action to investigate the incident thoroughly. It is essential that proper measures be put in place to ensure that such an event does not happen again in the future.

I would appreciate it if you could keep the community informed about the steps being taken to address this issue. Ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students is crucial, and I trust the district will take swift action in response to this concern.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding the steps the school district plans to take.

Sincerely,
Chris Hood

"There are a lot of things that Telegram could have been doing this whole time. And they know exactly what they are and they've chosen not to do them. That's why I don't trust them," she said. False news often spreads via public groups, or chats, with potentially fatal effects. At the start of 2018, the company attempted to launch an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) which would enable it to enable payments (and earn the cash that comes from doing so). The initial signals were promising, especially given Telegram’s user base is already fairly crypto-savvy. It raised an initial tranche of cash – worth more than a billion dollars – to help develop the coin before opening sales to the public. Unfortunately, third-party sales of coins bought in those initial fundraising rounds raised the ire of the SEC, which brought the hammer down on the whole operation. In 2020, officials ordered Telegram to pay a fine of $18.5 million and hand back much of the cash that it had raised. There was another possible development: Reuters also reported that Ukraine said that Belarus could soon join the invasion of Ukraine. However, the AFP, citing a Pentagon official, said the U.S. hasn’t yet seen evidence that Belarusian troops are in Ukraine. The company maintains that it cannot act against individual or group chats, which are “private amongst their participants,” but it will respond to requests in relation to sticker sets, channels and bots which are publicly available. During the invasion of Ukraine, Pavel Durov has wrestled with this issue a lot more prominently than he has before. Channels like Donbass Insider and Bellum Acta, as reported by Foreign Policy, started pumping out pro-Russian propaganda as the invasion began. So much so that the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council issued a statement labeling which accounts are Russian-backed. Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform.
