Первый бюст Сталина ранее появился в деревне Вутабоси Канашского района перед домом Шемякина. Также там установлены бюсты Ленина, Ворошилова, Чапаева, планируется установка бюста Жукова.
На мероприятии присутствовал депутат чувашского парламента Александр Андреев. Ранее он предлагал переименовать в честь Сталина одну из центральных улиц Чебоксар.
