В министерстве углепрома Кузбасса привели страшную, но очень важную статистику времен Великой Отечественной войны:

• 15,9 тыс. женщин работало на шахтах Кузбасса уже к концу 1941 года;
• 2619 женщин трудились в забоях;
• 700 подростков младше 16 лет работало в шахтах в 1942 году;
• 160 из них – девушки.

К концу войны почти каждым третьим работником угольной промышленности была женщина.
