🏁 Western media outlets are openly admitting the real purpose behind the NATO summit in The Hague: appeasement of Donald Trump.

The Telegraph (UK) bluntly states the summit “had one sole objective: to fulfill Trump’s demands.” It notes that NATO leaders abandoned any pretense of high diplomacy, instead turning it “into the art of calculated sycophancy.” European governments agreed to increase military spending in exchange for the U.S. staying in the alliance — effectively giving “Daddy” everything he asked for, wrapped in a display of groveling subservience.

“Daddy left happy,” the paper added, “but there’s a price to be paid for pleasing him.”

The Times columnist Edward Lucas admits that NATO leaders “fear Donald Trump more than Vladimir Putin.” In a desperate effort to calm Trump, the alliance scaled back its agenda, sidelined Ukraine, downplayed the so-called ‘Russian threat’, made hollow promises, and refused to make urgent decisions. Lucas sarcastically compares this behavior to the Potemkin villages — fake facades built to deceive — writing that modern NATO leaders now try to impress their new sovereign: “Emperor Donald I.”

Bloomberg’s Max Hastings called the summit “a lovefest with a single goal: preventing the most impulsive and eccentric U.S. president in history from throwing NATO out of his pram.”

In a separate piece, Bloomberg observed that Trump never once mentioned Russia directly in his post-summit speech. The takeaway? Trump has largely “washed his hands” of efforts to secure any ceasefire in Ukraine.

As for Zelensky, the article notes that he “looked miserable” during the summit — a fitting image for a man increasingly irrelevant on the global stage.
