Сейчас образование в вузах поделено на три этапа: базовая подготовка – бакалавриат и специалитет, средняя – магистратура и высшая – аспирантура.
С 1 сентября 2026 года этапов станет два. Внедряться изменения начнут уже с 2025 года. Они не затронут действующие образовательные программы.
Базовый этап обучения после перехода будет иметь продолжительность от 5 до 6 лет, то есть, на год дольше, чем сейчас, а специализированный – от 1 до 3 лет.
Углубленный этап не будет считаться получением второго высшего образования, а станет продолжением первого.
