💥Breaking New Ground in Cancer Immunotherapy: CAR-Macrophages
🔴CAR-Macrophages (CAR-M) are engineered immune cells designed to target solid tumors by combining macrophages’ innate tumor-homing abilities with antigen-specific precision.
🟡 Unlike CAR-T cells, which struggle in dense tumor microenvironments (TME), CAR-Ms infiltrate tumors effectively, phagocytose cancer cells, and reprogram the TME to boost systemic immunity
🟣Mechanism of Action: Targeted Phagocytosis: CAR-Ms use chimeric antigen receptors (e.g., HER2, mesothelin) to recognize and engulf tumor cells
🟢TME Reprogramming: They secrete cytokines (IL-12, IFN-γ) to counteract immunosuppression and recruit T/NK cells via chemokines like CCL5
🟠Antigen Presentation: CAR-Ms process tumor antigens and activate T cells, bridging innate and adaptive immunity
🔵Structural Remodeling: Matrix metalloproteinases break down physical barriers in the TME, enhancing immune cell access

Telegram does offer end-to-end encrypted communications through Secret Chats, but this is not the default setting. Standard conversations use the MTProto method, enabling server-client encryption but with them stored on the server for ease-of-access. This makes using Telegram across multiple devices simple, but also means that the regular Telegram chats you’re having with folks are not as secure as you may believe. Just days after Russia invaded Ukraine, Durov wrote that Telegram was "increasingly becoming a source of unverified information," and he worried about the app being used to "incite ethnic hatred." Telegram was co-founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov, the brothers who had previously created VKontakte. VK is Russia’s equivalent of Facebook, a social network used for public and private messaging, audio and video sharing as well as online gaming. In January, SimpleWeb reported that VK was Russia’s fourth most-visited website, after Yandex, YouTube and Google’s Russian-language homepage. In 2016, Forbes’ Michael Solomon described Pavel Durov (pictured, below) as the “Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.” He floated the idea of restricting the use of Telegram in Ukraine and Russia, a suggestion that was met with fierce opposition from users. Shortly after, Durov backed off the idea. "There are a lot of things that Telegram could have been doing this whole time. And they know exactly what they are and they've chosen not to do them. That's why I don't trust them," she said.
