Вернулся в Пятнашку, в составе этого подразделения принимал участие в отражении наступления ВСУ в Курской области.
21 августа во время выполнения боевого задания на Курском направлении Арсений получил огнестрельное ранение головы. 3 месяца спустя Арсений Тарханов умер в военном госпитале в Москве.
