Поскольку земля здесь благоприятна для копания, прошлые катакомбы в Александрии - не единственные. Есть ещё, в данном случае эллинистического периода. Называются почему-то Некрополь Мустафы Камеля.

Поблизости археологами раскопаны несколько древних ванн. Как видите, некоторые изделия за тысячи лет никак не поменялись, совершенная форма найдена давным давно, и улучшать тут нечего.

Заметим, ванны, которым, между прочим, две тысячи лет, не считают тут чем-то достойным размещения в музее: так и стоят под открытым небом. Сравните с тем, что у нас, когда в музее не стесняются выставлять осколки битой посуды.

Markets continued to grapple with the economic and corporate earnings implications relating to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. “We have a ton of uncertainty right now,” said Stephanie Link, chief investment strategist and portfolio manager at Hightower Advisors. “We’re dealing with a war, we’re dealing with inflation. The Bureau of Labor Statistics' February Consumer Price Index (CPI) this week showed another surge in prices even before Russia escalated its attacks in Ukraine. The headline CPI — soaring 7.9% over last year — underscored the sticky inflationary pressures reverberating across the U.S. economy, with everything from groceries to rents and airline fares getting more expensive for everyday consumers. There was another possible development: Reuters also reported that Ukraine said that Belarus could soon join the invasion of Ukraine. However, the AFP, citing a Pentagon official, said the U.S. hasn’t yet seen evidence that Belarusian troops are in Ukraine. Ukrainian forces have since put up a strong resistance to the Russian troops amid the war that has left hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, including children, dead, according to the United Nations. Ukrainian and international officials have accused Russia of targeting civilian populations with shelling and bombardments.
