На внешней поверхности таза видны следы крепления двух утраченных ручек. На внутренней стороне дна рельефный медальон, изображающий мифологическую сцену гибели Полиника, смертельно раненного братом Этиоклом в сражении у родного города Фивы. Умирающего поддерживает молодая женщина. Рядом, с поднятым кверху мечом в руке, стоит богиня мести и ненависти Эриния. Таз относится к предметам южноиталийской работы.
