قال ابن القيم: «وقد نص الإمام أحمد على أن الرجل إذا شهد الجنازة، فرأى فيها منكرا لا يقدر على إزالته؛ أنه لا يرجع. ونص على أنه إذا دعي إلى وليمة عرس، فرأى فيها منكرا لا يقدر على إزالته؛ أنه يرجع. فسألت شيخنا [ابن تيمية] عن الفرق؟ فقال: لأن الحق في الجنازة للميت، فلا يترك حقه لما فعله الحي من المنكر. والحق في الوليمة لصاحب البيت، فإذا أتى فيها بالمنكر؛ فقد أسقط حقه من الإجابة».
