Patchouli perfume process :

As you can see, my patchouli is aged for YEARS to make it my "perfect patchouli".

If it isn't aged, it isn't available, I won't use anything else for my patchouli oil.

This patchouli is ultra aged and sticky. Almost a solid block of patchouli. I use it sparingly since it is so valuable and cannot be readily found aged unless someone is sitting on a bunch of patchouli that they have intentionally allowed to turn into the best patchouli ever. Needless to say, I love patchouli.
I had to make special labels for the Golden Green Batches of comfrey!!

Often my comfrey is very DARK green which is also lovely. However I am loving this golden batch.
Gothique Perfume

This is a blend I created nearly a decade ago because I love deep unusual scents that are hard to explain.

Keywords: Deep | Gothic | Dark | Sacharrine |

The Ingredients: Heliotrope | Jasmine | Lotus |

Heliotrope -

Heliotrope's name stems from the Greek meaning "The Sun" and "Turning"

This plant has a unique history which is deep in folklore and myth. Ancient people believed this plant to have magical properties. Native to Europe, sometimes called white queen, depending on the variety we are talking about, is a family of flowering plant now grown all across the world. Heliotrope is found in Greek mythos and is connected with the element of fire. The flowers are often thought of as being connected with passion, devotion and resilience.

In some traditions, Jasmine was known as the King of oils, is often found in high end perfumes for its fixative qualities and its beautiful warm floral fragrance. Although it is often associated with feminine qualities, this blend brings out it's masculine side. It is very sensual and has aphrodisiac qualities.

Lotus brings a hidden sweetness to this blend that I find quite enjoyable. For more about lotus, visit my lotus listing on etsy.

On the highly misunderstood / misinformation filled subject of fragrances oils, essential oils, and the like:

Having had multiple people ask me about the safety of my perfumes, I decided to write some about this. Though I do not go around throwing my credentials, I am an educated aromatherapist, and " herbalist " with having proper credentials, but I don't like to advertise that, there is nothing for me to prove and I am always learning. Having worked in the EO/Alternative healing field for a decade now, I sometimes forget that not everyone has the same understanding or education I do. The company I am affiliated with is one of the pioneers of the EO industry, (NO not Doterra or Young living) with the owner starting over thirty years ago. This same person is the person who mentored me and funded my herbal education while mentoring me and giving me work in the field. We don't support MLM companies, And we go by the European standard of essential oils - as in not ingesting and using caution while using these highly medicinal substances.

About my perfumes:

Our fragrance oils are carefully selected to be premium grade and phthalate free. They have been tested just like our essential oils.

While fragrance oils contain natural components like essential oils, or isolated constituents, they are considered synthetic. So think about it like this, many fragrance oils are simply isolated constituents from a plant.

We adhere to the strictest RIFM and IFRA standards regarding fragrance safety, and all of our fragrances are non-toxic when used for their intended purposes. (Basically, common sense safety don't drink essential oils or fragrance oils).

The essential oils used in our perfumes are sourced all over the world directly from the farm.

Our Perfume oils are made in "perfume grade dilution" meaning that they are skin safe but they are STRONG, as a perfume should be.

Some notes about Fragrance oils and Essential oils:

Both are highly volatile compounds

Both are toxic if ingested

Both should be diluted with a carrier oil before use. They can cause burns or irritation if not used properly.

Citrus oils should never be worn in the sun as this can cause photosensitization - which results in burns.

Fragrance oils replace diminishing raw materials.

Fragrance oils come in Lilac and Lily, which cannot be extracted from the flowers - except for enfleurage - and even then, the smell will be quite mild and not "eau de parfum or perfume oil".

Fragrance oils allow perfumeries to produce bakery scents and other scents not found in plant matter.

My fragrances are in the natural category meaning that though some do have "fragrance oils" they are still natural due to the quality testing and being non-toxic, Clean Scents.

All this said, my scents are made with predominantly with essential oils or some sort of combination, and they are safe.

Also since oils are partly made with water, and water is influenced by the environment it is in, the intent of the perfumer will be noted. This is not "woo woo" or new age - this is science and can be recorded.

If you want a perfume with only essential oils, resins, and absolutes, you can make a request and I will send you a list of my options.

On the highly misunderstood / misinformation filled subject of fragrances oils, essential oils, and the like: Having had multiple people ask me about the safety of my perfumes, I decided to write some about this. Though I do not go around throwing my credentials…
As a personal note -

Personally, I have used them in combination with essential oils for years - and feel confident and comfortable using them. They are very strong and beneficial.

I am very meticulous about EVERYTHING, picky about organic food, etc - to the point where it drives other people around me a little nuts. GMO potato's not allowed! My guy bought a bag of GMO potato's before he understood about GMO's and he didn't hear the end of it.. :]

When it comes to this, we all pick our battles. We all have things we compromise on. Due to my extensive knowledge and time spent studying and working in this field, I do not think or feel that fragrance oils, when properly used, sourced and tested are any more of an issue than using essential oils. Many essential oil companies have been put into question back when all the legislation changed for fragrances - maybe 12 years ago. Even some of the top brands have been tested and their quality is not great to say the least. Did you know that all a company has to do is use 1 natural component in an item for it to be called natural?

Do you walk outside every day in a chemically treated environment that is being sprayed on? How is that okay, and growing food that is sprayed on, and then eating it is okay, but using something that has been tested to be free of harmful chemicals not okay? Or worse - buying foods that are sprayed with pesticides etc.

Believe me, I get that there have been mass lies - so called elite companies literally mass poisoning people.

This is EXACTLY why I started making my own scents and products for health and wellbeing. I love all the popular scents and smells, but refuse to buy store bought perfumes.

So, in a nutshell. Don't hate on the little guys. And if you do find fragrance oils unacceptable - there are always options if you ask your blend to be made with 100% essential oils, or make your own. My experience with this, is that 99% of people will not pay for a blend like that - or want to wait - and they will more than likely find another company who is simply dishonest with them, who does use fragrance oils but doesn't disclose - and you can't really be sure of the quality etc since they aren't being upfront anyways. I prefer to know exactly where my oils come from - and I am a hardass about this.
Dia

Before I made this, the name and ingredients came to me randomly. I knew I had to make it. This blend was not intentional, it was Divinely Inspired. A truly earthy scent with a small hint of floral. This scent is for the patchouli and earthy lovers. Since this scent uses 10+ year aged patchouli, and other precious essential oils and it takes a long time for them to mature, it will only be available in small batches infrequently so what is available is what is available.

Keywords: Earthen | Divine | Feminine | Rustic |

The Ingredients: Aged Patchouli | Aged Vetiver | Sandalwood (Hawaiian) | Florals |

In Greek, the name Dia means "Bright or Divine, Heavenly".

Dea Dia is sometimes referred to as an honorific title, or as an ancient Goddess of the earth. She is closely correlated to Ceres and Demeter, in Greek. Additionally, there are numerous stories in ancient greek myth about women named Dia - who were daughters of Kings, and connected with the gods of the Greek pantheon.

"The Atlantean" necklace with Blue Apatite and Aqua Aura Quartz, gold plated copper wire.
Vesna Perfume

I can feel it in the air where I live, spring is coming. And, as much as I love winter and autumn, I also love the renewal of spring. This perfume is so named after an ancient Slavic Goddess of Spring - Vesna, and the female given name Vesna.
Vesna is the poetic word for 'spring' in several Slavic languages including Slovene, Croatian, Czech and Slovak. It is also a female name commonly used in Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia. Seeing as I have predominately Southern Slavic in my ancestry, it seemed very fitting.

The Ingredients: Violet | Lilac | Lily | Orange | Verbena | Honeysuckle

Keywords: Spring | Uplifting | Floral | Feminine | Light | Rebirth | Peace

Vesna signifies the rebirth of spring after winter - She is considered in some traditions to be Morana's younger sister.
On the day of the Spring Equinox, a nationwide festivity was organized in Her honor, pancakes were always baked, as a symbol of Yarilo the Sun; Easter cakes, bagels and bagels with poppy seeds, as a symbol of the earth waking up after winter sleep; gingerbread in the form of larks and cookies with holy symbols.

In Slovene mythology, vesnas were spoken of as a group of beautiful women who lived in palaces atop mountains. Vesna signifies rebirth, abundant life, and fertility, often depicted with flowers adorning her body.

P.s.
It is interesting to note that the handmaidens of wisdom also are spoken of as living in places atop mountains.

Maybe @HaematosAgathoio has a before picture.. I sent her this crystal point that I got up on Mt. Cheaha. I'm not a wire wrapper but I did my best and beaded a chain for it.. after meeting Sarah and seeing how talented she is with wire wrapping I sent it to her and she redid it. She used all my original beads which is super special as my Grandmother gave some of them to me.
When I got home from FL today the package was on my placemat at the table πŸ’•
I love what she did.. it exceeds my expectations and it has her unique/chaotic/raw/artistic style that I love about her wrapped pieces.

I'm so happy!

The point is πŸ’― clear but the lighting is giving it a yellow hue in these pictures.

As a bonus of course there were perfume oils. I've never doubted Sarah's abilities as a Perfumier... but I haven't personally loved many of her scents. I loved the Patchouli. I could appreciate some of the other smells but they weren't for me. This Dia, Patchouli, and Starry Night ARE MY KINDA SCENTS ✨✨✨✨ Spicey, Earthy, and RichπŸ¦β€πŸ”₯

She also sent Noah a Sandalwood Musk that he loves.

And! My Mom loved the Saffron Musk, Musk, and White Musk. I loved them too. As Mom was smelling them I was kinda hoping she'd say one of them wasn't for her so I could take it back, but no such luck πŸ™ƒ

My Most Favorite of all is Dia. It has a lot of Patchouli and Vetiver in it.. sometimes I get hints of tobacco.. it is just wonderful β™₯
Barefoot Patchouli

Patchouli here is what I call barefoot, walking in the woods, in the midst of an earthen grove with citrus trees in full bloom. Euphoric.

The Ingredients: Aged Patchouli | Aged Vetiver | Cypress | Citrus

Keywords: Stimulating | Bohemian | Earthen | Euphoric

This patchouli perfume is considered an Extrait de Parfum - meaning that it has the highest concentrate of oils - which is 20 - 40% (so most of my perfumes are in this category), however this blend is about 75% oil concentrate. This particular blend is also made using only 100% pure and natural essential oils, hence the steeper price point. I am very particular about my Patchouli! So I need it to be "such a way". This oil took me about 2 weeks to formulate, and it smelled like chocolate at first! I felt Euphoric when making it, so I could only go in small segments working with it. And, as much as I love my dark chocolate, I don't really want to smell that way. So it took a lot of work and even had to order one special resin for this blend.
