Tomorrow marks 135 years since the birth of Michel Dufet, a very influential but lesser-known French pre-modernist who made a name for himself as an artist, architect, stage designer, decorator, product designer, and, being married to Rhodia Bourdelle, director of the Bourdelle Museum.

In 1929, Dufet was already a renowned designer of interiors (including for the SS Normandie) and furnishings that exemplified the aesthetics of Art Deco and, yet, showcased Dufet’s affinity for stark functionality and mass-production, when he came up with a “machine for writing on”, a writing desk made entirely of polished zinc, in response to a commission from Asturian Mining Company that wished to promote the potential of zinc. The following year saw Dufet create, after the likeness of the writing desk, a futuristic “machine for dressing at”, a vanity table made of zinc whose sternness was softened by the addition of Karelian birch and parchment.

Messages are not fully encrypted by default. That means the company could, in theory, access the content of the messages, or be forced to hand over the data at the request of a government. On Feb. 27, however, he admitted from his Russian-language account that "Telegram channels are increasingly becoming a source of unverified information related to Ukrainian events." In view of this, the regulator has cautioned investors not to rely on such investment tips / advice received through social media platforms. It has also said investors should exercise utmost caution while taking investment decisions while dealing in the securities market. "We're seeing really dramatic moves, and it's all really tied to Ukraine right now, and in a secondary way, in terms of interest rates," Octavio Marenzi, CEO of Opimas, told Yahoo Finance Live on Thursday. "This war in Ukraine is going to give the Fed the ammunition, the cover that it needs, to not raise interest rates too quickly. And I think Jay Powell is a very tepid sort of inflation fighter and he's not going to do as much as he needs to do to get that under control. And this seems like an excuse to kick the can further down the road still and not do too much too soon." There was another possible development: Reuters also reported that Ukraine said that Belarus could soon join the invasion of Ukraine. However, the AFP, citing a Pentagon official, said the U.S. hasn’t yet seen evidence that Belarusian troops are in Ukraine.
