Из цикла «Заметки на полях». При написании главы про "Холодное сердце" Гауфа я, разумеется, перечитал текст сказки. Особенно меня тронул кусок, когда главному герою заменили человеческое сердце на каменное, он стал сволочью без стыда и совести и начал обирать своих земляков, давая деньги в рост.
Самое примечательное в этом всем - процент по кредитам, который он брал: "Главным его занятием были перепродажа зерна и ростовщичество. Пол-Шварцвальда оказалось постепенно у него в долгу. Но он давал взаймы деньги только из десяти процентов"
Как человек, пару лет назад закрывший ипотеку, на этом месте я нервно хихикнул.
