Вместе с вдовой Собчака Людмилой Нарусовой президент возложил цветы к памятнику первого мэра на Васильевском острове. Анатолий Собчак руководил Петербургом в 1991–1996 годы. Под его руководством начиналась карьера многих высокопоставленных российских политиков и бизнесменов, в том числе и Путина.
