Доклад был посвящен четырём основным темам: управлению ресурсами, модулям, дженерикам и "профилям" (подмножествам языка, за удержанием в рамках каковых следит компилятор). Страуструп призывал одновременно не зацикливаться на использовании одних лишь новых фич и не застревать в прошлом, также проповедовал старый добрый KISS.
