Cabello: There is no possibility that González Urrutia will reach Venezuela “without being arrested”

González on returning to Caracas: I'm not going to war, but I am going to restore democracy

Opposition leader Edmundo González said in an interview with EFE on Monday, December 16, that he was aware of the risks of his return to the country, but insisted that he is scheduled to "assume the mandate and enforce the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people" starting January 10.

"Fear does not mean going to war. I am not going to war, but I am going to restore Venezuelan democracy and I am going with a lot of effort and a lot of will to restore democratic legality in Venezuela," said González.
Bullrich responds to Diosdado Cabello:

"You are the lackey of a criminal and cowardly dictatorship (...) Argentina does not submit to tyrants. Free Nahuel Gallo immediately or face the consequences."

Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Keith Rowley has rejected statements suggesting an agreement with the United States to deploy troops on its territory against Venezuela as of January 1, 2025.

In this regard, Rowley stressed that this is a very serious matter. “If a country offers its territory for military troops against another, it is a very serious matter” and pointed out that this type of misinformation could harm bilateral relations with Venezuela.

The president clarified that the existing cooperation agreement with Washington is limited to training military personnel to respond to natural disasters and has no relation to Venezuela.

Argentine President Javier Milei on Tuesday demanded the release of Argentine gendarme Nahuel Agustín Gallo, arbitrarily detained by the Nicolás Maduro regime since December 8.

"He was arrested by the security forces under the criminal dictator Nicolás Maduro for the sole crime of visiting his partner and his son. We demand his immediate release and will exhaust all diplomatic avenues to return him safe and sound to Argentina," he claimed.
