Очень интересная ситуация: сохранив свою относительную (от всего населения США) численность, афроамериканцы при этом расселились по всей территории страны.

В начале XX века подавляющее большинство чернокожих жили на юге, в регионе бывших рабских плантаций, и много где составляли абсолютное большинство населения. С тех пор ситуация серьёзно изменилась — афроамериканцы массово поехали на север и на запад и теперь живут по всей стране, а их доля в населении на юге заметно упала.
