🏳️🇹🇲🇹🇷Afghan, Turkmen and Turkish officials meet on key TAP-500 power project
The IEA Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a meeting this week between Afghan officials, representatives of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, Turkmenistan and Turkey's Çalık Holding Group.
The purpose of the meeting was to initiate the implementation of the TAP-500 power transmission project.
The TAP-500 project envisages the construction of a 500 kV transmission line and is designed to transmit high-voltage electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan's Herat, Farah, Helmand and Kandahar provinces.
If all domestic needs are met, the electricity will be further exported to Pakistan, bringing annual transit income to Afghanistan.
As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached to develop a joint roadmap and action plan for the implementation of the project. Formation of technical committees, regular meetings to finalize agreements and establishment of a joint secretariat to coordinate the efforts of different ministries were discussed.
All parties agreed to form technical committees and hold regular meetings to finalize agreements and implementation plans for the TAP-500 project.

The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. "Russians are really disconnected from the reality of what happening to their country," Andrey said. "So Telegram has become essential for understanding what's going on to the Russian-speaking world." Multiple pro-Kremlin media figures circulated the post's false claims, including prominent Russian journalist Vladimir Soloviev and the state-controlled Russian outlet RT, according to the DFR Lab's report.
