Авейрон до 1960-х был с Бретанью и Вандеей самой верующей областью страны, так что в 10.000 городе 4 церкви (тут - бывшая августинцы и отцов Доктринариев, обы стали приходскими в 19-м веке, много монастырей (тут - бывший кармелитский), часовни религиозных сообществ (тут - синие Пенитанты, потом библиотека, и черные пенитанты с необычной колокольней, святая Варвара с колокольней-стеной - где приходской дом, святой Яков в готическом стиле - просто выставочный зал), и прочими религиозными зданиями.

Сейчас Авейрон (епархия Родез), где в 1960-х было 1000 католических священников, сильно просела (их осталось 35 вместе с епископом), но архитектурное наследие осталось и радует глаз.
