Читая сейчас об Алеппо и Хаме, я вспоминаю другие сирийские города - Камышло и Амуде, где мы с мамой оказались за пару лет до войны, чтобы посмотреть Телль Брак и Телль Мозан, знаменитые археологические памятники Восточной Сирии. Мы разминулись и с Джоан Отс, и с Мунчаевской экспедицией - все уже уехали. Зато мы гуляли по Амуде с вот этими ребятами и они говорили о Достоевском и Шостаковиче. Спонтанно так говорили, без напряга. А Амуде - это городок вроде нашей Луги, понимаете? А дедушка Дильшада, парня, который нас принимал, напечатал на машинке свою двухтомную "Историю Курдистана". Не знаю, что с ней стало. Ребята почти все потом уехали в Европу, но один - школьный учитель - остался из принципа. Надеюсь, что с ними всё в порядке, где бы они ни были.
