В одной из старых книжек по фонетике (1992) натолкнулись на мысль, очень близкую к принципам лигал-дизайна: скопление коротких слов создаёт «рубленный» ритм, а длинные слова тяжеловесны, и, если их много, они делают фразу тягучей, монотонной.
Но так ли плохо, что благодаря обилию длинных слов документы становятся монотонными? Вовсе нет.
Юридический текст — это не стихотворение, тут не требуется смена ритма. Наоборот, тягучесть и монотонность лишь подчёркивают читающему значимость и серьёзность материала.
Так что совет лигал-дизайнеров заменять длинные слова на короткие можно отнести к числу вредных, примитивизирующих юридическую документацию.

At its heart, Telegram is little more than a messaging app like WhatsApp or Signal. Back in the day, Secret Chats received some praise from the EFF, but the fact that its standard system isn’t as secure earned it some criticism. If you’re looking for something that is considered more reliable by privacy advocates, then Signal is the EFF’s preferred platform, although that too is not without some caveats.
